Cathy and Aaron ~ The Engagement

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

I love learning new things; new facts, jokes, trivial matters, things about people…like, take this sitting. I learned that I love the Santa Fe Springs area; it’s one of my new favorite places to shoot. I also learned, that I’m afraid of geese. I have a squeeling, girly fear of geese.

But they make great backdrops for photos.

Cathy and Aaron chose the location and I’m so glad they did-it was perfect. They love coming here on the weekends to ride bikes, feed the ducks, and just hang out-it’s easy to see why.

They were SUCH a sweet couple to work with; and were **very** kind and tolerant when towards the end of the session, my newfound fear of massive flocks of geese was discovered.

Not that long to go now! See you soon and thank you again; I’m really looking forward to September.

I’m telling you, they look cute and fluffy here, but in real life, the birds were 10 feet tall:

Jennifer and Michael ~ The Engagement

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

I was nervous doing this sitting. Seriously, seriously, nervous. Like, first date nervous. See, I only met Jennifer and Michael one, for a few minutes-everything else we did was over email. Wedding ideas, timelines, sitting ideas…all over email. They have been in a long distance relationship for quite some time (Hi, Brian), so, they booked this sitting when it was her turn to come to Los Angeles. We had an hour, and she only had 2 days for a whirlwind of wedding planning.

See…pressure?

That went away after about 4 seconds. They are adorable, a lot of fun, and up for anything (climbing, jumping, running on sharp rocks…)

Their wedding is coming up in about 4 weeks (eek) which will be here before they know it.

Jackie and Steve ~ The Engagement

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

This sitting was so much fun! Jackie and Steve live in Long Beach near Shoreline Village, so, of course, we had to do some engagement photos there. It was an incredible afternoon. We started at their home and made our way to the Village, with great views of the Queen Mary in the background. Their wedding is coming up pretty fast and we’re looking forward to it. See you guys in a few weeks.

Santa Monica Family Reunion

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Sometimes, I get to photograph the coolest occasions: Weddings, Engagements, Parties…and “Just Because.” That’s what Harold and Leah did; instead of an engagement party, they threw one just because they wanted to…I LOVE THAT. As a bonus for me, it was held at the new Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica. Not only do you get stunning ocean views, but your guests get a private tour of the Marion Davies Guest House…an absolute must stop. And, if a tall, older gentleman stops, and asks if you’d like to hear the story of William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies…say yes; it’s worth the stop.
