I have a very soft spot for intimate weddings. Brian and I had one here, and one where he’s from. And as a photographer, there’s something so meaningful about being a part of such a close-knit celebration. Erica and Hernan also appealed to the type-A personality that I have a teeny wee bit of They set a perfect timeline, were actively involved in selecting just the perfect spot for photos (Brand Library & Art Center) after their beautiful ceremony at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hollywood and their itinerary was organizational gold for me. Their wedding day was made perfect by a reception at Redbird at Cathedral of Saint Vibiana. (and a special thanks to the team there for giving us access to some stunning spots)! Erica and Hernan, thank you for having me as a part of such a romantic, and personal celebration!

Carondelet House Wedding ~ Aldo and Joseph
Aldo and Joseph, with their incredible coordinator, Kim, from The Love Riot, designed the perfect wedding day at the Carondelet House. This gorgeous couple was absolutely surrounded by loved ones and you could absolutely feel the love in the room for these two and I was so delighted and honored to be a part of this. I also had the incredible opportunity to once again work with Brian (other Brian) of McCarthy Photo Studio.

Vibiana Wedding ~ Gabriela and Manuel
You know when you have one of those absolutely perfect days? Where everything seems to just go well? This was it. Thanks to Deanna and Chic Ambiance, and Gabriela’s incredible sense of organization, this day was beautifully orchestrated. I met Gabriela and the girls at Vibiana, while Brian met the guys (and got some of my favorite photos of the day) at the Hilton in Downtown LA. From there, the rest of the day flew by. With stunning decor by Lori’s Flowers this day could not have gone any better-and the two of them more than deserve it. Gabriela and Manuel are the kind of couple you hope to get to work with all the time and the importance they placed on involving friends and family in their day was truly touching.
Los Angeles Athletic Club Wedding ~ Casey and Estrella
As an LA native, I am in love with anything and everything vintage Los Angeles. I try and be very careful not to overuse the term “vintage” unless it’s truly appropriate-but in this case, it’s perfect. Estrella and Casey were engaged in a very Hollywood way-on the national talkshow “The Talk.” Along with 49 other potential grooms, on television, Casey got down on one knee and asked Estrella to marry him.
They wanted to carry that love of Los Angeles, and Casey’s proud Irish heritage, into their wedding-and they did so beautifully.
Their reception (and first look) was at the Los Angeles Athletic Club, a glamorous, vintage Los Angeles landmark, built in 1880. Casey wore a tux with tails, and Estrella wore a dress that seemed to be made just for her, from Winnie Couture, with the help of Modern LA Weddings, they were able to incorporate that old Hollywood feel with Casey’s Irish family history. They were married at one of the oldest churches in Los Angeles, St. Brendan’s in Hancock Park. They had a 1957 Rolls Royce convertible take them to their reception-driving with the top down through the streets of Los Angeles. During the cocktail hour they had an Irish band, and throughout the reception, used the colors of Ireland, including the tri-color flag, with bells of Ireland flowers as accents; and Casey’s family crest for a personal touch.
