Thank you ~ Hollywood Wedding Photographer

Saturday, December 31st, 2011

I was working on my year end review when I became absolutely overwhelmed: by joy, by gratitude to have such an incredible job; overwhelmed by my beautiful brides, by some of the sweetest couples I’ve ever been lucky enough to work with-some of whom we are now fortunate enough to call friends. I was just overwhelmed by how amazing it is to watch some of my smallest clients grow up, and how much fun I had meeting new people this year and discovering new places to photograph.

Thank you.

Thank you for making 2011 the best year Karen Leah Photography has ever had and for giving us what is shaping up to be a fabulous (and busy) 2012. Thank you for giving us a job that we absolutely adore and are lucky enough to do everyday. Thank you for your well-wishes for Ian, and for indulging us as we post photos of our new addition (with the occasional mention of his 4-legged furbaby sister), and for trusting us with some of the most important days and moments of your lives.

From our family to yours: have a safe and wonderful new years celebration, and a happy new year. See you in 2012.

Downtown Los Angeles Wedding Photographer ~ Caitlin and Dan ~ The Wedding

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

This is why we love Wedding Wire and Yelp! Caitlin found us online and after an initial phone conversation where she described her wedding and a few emails, I met Caitlin and Dan in person on their wedding day. Caitlin was her own coordinator, totally relaxed, and the day couldn’t have gone better. It was, in a word, timeless. From the venues, to the decor; even to Caitlin’s dress and Dan’s suit, everything was just-timeless.

Reception Venue: Cicada Restaurant
Ceremony: Our Lady of the Angels
Bride’s shoes: Calvin Klein
Hair and Makeup: Neihule

Where do the years go? ~ Los Angeles Family Photographer

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

I LOVE this season. The sites, the smells, the family gatherings, gift wrapping (Really. I love wrapping presents-if I may say so, I make some pretty fantastic bows).

I also love reconnecting with past clients; watching their kids grow, and meeting new families-and I met some of the NICEST people this year. I’m really excited to share a few of my favorite images from this season:

This one was Brian’s favorite – especially when Dante (white Mustang) took Brian out for a ride. Dina, their mom, wanted photos of each of her kids with their Mustangs. Brilliant!

Little Charlotte and Myra:

Can you believe that this is the same girl? What a difference a year makes.

And talk about growing up! I’ve been lucky enough to photograph Sydney and Spencer from the time that Sydney still needed a little help sitting up. And this year, she was running, jumping, and accessorizing! (And Spencer was helping with the shoot!)

And Bella and Dean? Well, go to the second row of this section of my website. Now check this year’s session out:

I can’t forget Hallie and Colin (remember that little girl on the left?):

I also met some of the sweetest kids this year.

Little Alex (whose mother referred me to the BEST sitter ever. We’re talking “friendly and effective extra grandma” sitter, people):

Mackenzie, Drake, and Brandon:

Lily, Andrew, and David:

And, well, little Ian: ;-)
