Waverly Chapel Wedding Photographer ~ Jennifer and Michael ~ The Wedding

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

I adore this couple. I know, I know, I say that a lot. But I mean it. I liked Jennifer and Michael from the time we met, to their engagement session, to their wedding at Waverly Chapel (Brian and I love this venue) and reception at The Embassy Suites. And, you guys, your DJ’s, Station Identification, were incredible! You know, I know I can’t pick favorites, but this is an exception – they had the best wedding transportation! Michael’s family owns Pacific Coachway Charters so everyone arrived ON TIME to everywhere they needed to be-and in air conditioned style.

Also, Jennifer and I had a small bet; so, here, on the internet: Jennifer, you rocked; you were ready to go to the minute! I was very impressed and happy to uphold my end of it. :-)

Sorry for being gushy and gross, but photos like this are why I love working with Brian:

Slick shoes and a wet rock wall? No problem:

Magnolia Flowers did such a gorgeous job:

I would love to take credit for this one. Can I take credit for marrying the guy who took it?

Griffith Park Engagement Photographer ~ Lydia and Jaime ~ The Engagement

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Lydia and Jaime are just the sweetest couple. I was so nervous meeting them because, initially, they met with Brian first (and I’m not nearly as charming) but within seconds that totally went away (and meeting at Porto’s always helps). :-)

We shot at one of my favorite new locations, Griffith Park; I cannot believe I’ve lived in California all my life and never found this one little section…

I LOVE this photo:

And then…the parking and traffic fairies were totally on our side: we got a great spot on a crowded day for some great shots at the Griffith Observatory . And Lydia was SUCH a trooper. It was freezing. Not just cold, absolutely freezing; and she kept a sweet smile the entire time; even when the camera was off.

Santa Fe Springs Engagement Photographer ~ Cathy and Aaron ~ The Engagement

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

I love learning new things; new facts, jokes, trivial matters, things about people…like, take this sitting. I learned that I love the Santa Fe Springs area; it’s one of my new favorite places to shoot. I also learned, that I’m afraid of geese. I have a squeeling, girly fear of geese.

But they make great backdrops for photos.

Cathy and Aaron chose the location and I’m so glad they did-it was perfect. They love coming here on the weekends to ride bikes, feed the ducks, and just hang out-it’s easy to see why.

They were SUCH a sweet couple to work with; and were **very** kind and tolerant when towards the end of the session, my newfound fear of massive flocks of geese was discovered.

Not that long to go now! See you soon and thank you again; I’m really looking forward to September.

I’m telling you, they look cute and fluffy here, but in real life, the birds were 10 feet tall:

Irish Family Photographer ~ Baby Emilia

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Anyone who knows me knows one thing: I am not the “calmest” person in the world. I don’t “vacation” well. So, when we went back to Ireland for our wedding reception a few weeks ago; and I had no computer, spotty internet access, and a camera, I multitasked. Christening Photographer-check. A few portrait sessions while I was there-check. Bonding with new niece (and Brian’s Goddaughter)-check.

Meet Baby Emilia:
