Jennifer and Michael ~ The Wedding

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

I adore this couple. I know, I know, I say that a lot. But I mean it. I liked Jennifer and Michael from the time we met, to their engagement session, to their wedding at Waverly Chapel (Brian and I love this venue) and reception at The Embassy Suites. And, you guys, your DJ’s, Station Identification, were incredible! You know, I know I can’t pick favorites, but this is an exception – they had the best wedding transportation! Michael’s family owns Pacific Coachway Charters so everyone arrived ON TIME to everywhere they needed to be-and in air conditioned style.

Also, Jennifer and I had a small bet; so, here, on the internet: Jennifer, you rocked; you were ready to go to the minute! I was very impressed and happy to uphold my end of it. :-)

Sorry for being gushy and gross, but photos like this are why I love working with Brian:

Slick shoes and a wet rock wall? No problem:

I would love to take credit for this one. Can I take credit for marrying the guy who took it?

Erin and Dave ~ The Wedding (By Brian)

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Here I go, blogging out of order again, but Oh, how I wish I had been there for this wedding. I had another, wonderful, all-day photography job that day and couldn’t be Brian’s second for this-but, in a way I think that worked out well. I just became prouder and prouder of him with each photo I saw…and Erin! OH! I thought she was coolest bride ever because of this:

And then, I saw this:

Bestest Bridal Shoes EVER.

It’s a tie-I can’t pick.

But, I can say, Erin and Dave, your wedding was so beautiful. It was a thoughtful, tasteful, classic and loving day (And I just saw the photos). And even though I wasn’t there, I could see the love, emotion-and humor-that marked your wedding day. Some of these you’ve seen, other’s you haven’t, and the rest are on their way to you soon. Brian came home that night absolutely raving about your day (and the sock monkey cake).

Charles and Christine ~ The Wedding

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

This is a long overdue blog post; and a hard one to do. Charles and Christine were such a perfect fit for us. They were referred to us by one of our favorite coordinators- Kelly at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. We met over pancakes and coffee one morning and that was it. One Engagement session later I knew their wedding was going to be perfect for us.

I LOVED working with this couple (even with the USC Marching band at the reception); they were just so genuine, sweet, funny, snarky, organized; yet relaxed…and CUTE (bonus); not only in how they looked, but how they interacted with each other; they were just fun to watch. They knew what they wanted for their photos and trusted Brian and I completely; and for that, we are touched. They were kind enough to leave a review of us on project wedding that brought me to absolute tears (in a good way, not in an “OMG what happened I think my camera exploded” way).

I was so attached to these photos I had to let someone else design their album; I was just too drawn to every image; I can remember the stories behind them (and, ahem, why we had to do certain poses-I won’t call anyone out…just sayin’ though. LOLOL!!!), what we were doing, what they said to each other during their first look…and that’s an amazing problem to have. :-)

**BTW: check out the link above for the NEW Los Angeles Athletic Club photo gallery; the first two albums are from yours truly. We are SOOOOOO excited to have photos on their new site-Thank you, Kelly!!!!

Nancy and John ~ The Wedding

Friday, May 28th, 2010

When Nancy called me, literally, two weeks before her wedding at the Mission Inn and said she needed a photographer, I thought she was kidding. Then, when I met her and John, I was still in disbelief. Here’s this super nice, really attractive couple wanting to book me 14 days before their wedding?

Well, OK then.

We met and about 45 minutes later we had all the details worked out; it also helped that when we did need to meet before the wedding again, our families literally live about 10 minutes from each other. Bonus.

I am still in disbelief as to how smoothly the entire day went-it was actually, AHEAD OF SCHEDULE (with Nancy being a chemist, I can’t say I was that surprised, but still…it’s a wedding, things happen). It was so ahead of schedule, in fact, that it allowed us to take advantage of a rare, quiet afternoon around the historic hotel grouns for some amazing photos.

These next two photos are why I *always* encourage brides and grooms to hire two photographers. Here is my version:
